Closer to the source: How data managers can ensure speedy access to quality data
Information
There’s valuable data sitting in the EHR that is relevant for clinical studies, but, since EHRs aren’t designed with clinical research in mind we need to lean on technology to access and transfer relevant, structured EHR data for clinical research purposes. However, accessing structured EHR isn't enough and we need solutions that will help us tap into unstructured data, such as adverse events, in order to more holistically capture and transfer trial-specific data. Novel technology and processes can make the complex goal of capturing and transferring relevant structured and unstructured EHR data, while preserving data quality, feasible. This does mean a significant operational shift for data managers, but it also means better study data and an easier monitoring experience. In this talk, we will show how data managers can leverage technology and tech-enabled abstraction to eliminate manual data entry, ensure high-quality data, and enable better collaboration and faster decision making with study teams.
